Dear LiveGirl Donor,
Can you think of a mentor who changed your life?
Mine was Linda Boatright. As the first person in my family to leave Michigan, the family farm, and step into Corporate America, I felt overwhelmed and a little intimidated. But Linda saw me - and she taught me what I needed to know: what to wear, who to talk to, how to ask for feedback, and how to advocate for myself.
Linda believed in me before I fully believed in myself. She helped me see what was possible.
Today, I’m asking you to make a gift to LiveGirl so that more girls and young women can have a similar experience that many of us have had: someone who believes in them, guides them, and helps them see what’s possible.
At LiveGirl, your support provides girls with mentors, skill-building programs, networks, and real-world experiences starting at age 10; that help them become confident, career-ready leaders. Our programs are offered at no cost, because opportunity shouldn’t depend on what a family can afford.
As my Mom said, we give young people the opportunity to “chase their rainbows.” Because the truth is: Talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.
Too many talented young women encounter doors that remain locked. Your support helps give them the keys - training, mentorship, networks, and internships - so they can move forward with confidence.
We have served more than 25,000 girls since 2014.
But our mission comes to life one girl at a time. Every story, like Schebania Philemon’s featured here, is a shining example of what happens when talent meets opportunity - and when someone is there to open the door. A first-generation college student, Schebania soared to become a SHE WORKS graduate, Shine On Scholar, and LiveGirl Board Student Advocate.
Her story is a powerful reminder of how your support, together with our work, can break down barriers and create opportunities for girls and young women to reach their full potential.
Your gift can help open that door for the next girl.
Will you make your gift today and help the next generation of leaders chase their rainbows?
Thank you for believing in girls, in opportunity, and in what becomes possible when someone simply says, “I see you. I believe in you. You can do this.”
With gratitude,

Sheri West
